Matthew Janszen is a songwriter and composer who is best known for his versatility of style as heard in his animation show, Archibald’s Next Big Thing, created by Tony Hale. His other work includes the Warner Bros. animated comedies ThunderCats Roar! and Scooby-Doo! And the Gourmet Ghost. Along with animation, Matthew has scored numerous live-action films such as the Netflix film Fatal Affair, starring Nia Long and Omar Epps. His other work includes multiple horror films such as The Sandman, produced by Stan Lee, and Syfy’s Cucuy: The Boogeyman and Ominous. Matthew has also scored over 20 Christmas projects for numerous networks included Lifetime and Hallmark. His most notable holiday movies include Christmas Under Wraps, starring Candace Cameron Bure, The Flight Before Christmas, starring Mayim Bialik, and The Road Home for Christmas, featuring Marie Osmond. Matthew has also worked on the scores for Aquaman: King of Atlantis, an animated mini-series for HBO Max.
Matthew Janszen’s early musical life began with performing piano at the age of 5. Matthew has always been fascinated with the correlation between math and music. Before diving into a composition career, he obtained a degree in Acoustical Engineering from Purdue University. Soon after receiving his degree, he was fortunate to receive a scholarship to the Henry Mancini Institute in Los Angeles and later the BMI Pete Carpenter Fellowship to study with composer Mike Post. Janszen also studied at the ASCAP Film and TV Workshop with Richard Bellis and was awarded the Harold Arlen Film and TV Award.
