Michael Sempert is a composer, songwriter and producer. Equal parts heart and craft; lifeblood and elegant design, Sempert's music has been performed at the Guggenheim Museum in NYC, San Francisco Jazz Center, the Rathaus in Vienna as well as countless venues and clubs across the USA. He has released over a dozen albums of original music, scored over ten feature films in a range of genres and licensed his songs for hit TV shows.

Sempert has composed film scores for award-winning indies including folk-horror film Summoning the Spirit, and dramas A Room Full of Nothing and Homestate. These film scores range in style from majestic orchestral to cosmic American music to synth-based ambient score. He has also scored kids TV movies Bixler High Private Eye (Nickelodeon) and The Kid Who Only Hit Homers. Sempert's next feature is the apocalyptic action movie The Protector, slated for 2024.

Sempert's original songs have been featured in hit TV shows Grey's Anatomy, Gossip Girl and Bloodline. Bon Iver's Justin Vernon has described Sempert's song Strange Kind of Mirror as "an all-timer for me, just a perfect song." Sempert's albums have received critical acclaim from Pitchfork, The Fader, and NPR among many others.

Sempert continues to explore new sounds and directions with a curiosity, creativity and joy that has sustained him through his twenty year career in music.
